we have PLANTS!

Max and I went out to Our Garden to pick some basil for dinner. Because we can do that sort of thing. Because we're practically farmers.

And we made some wonderful discoveries....
Such as...
PLANTS!
cucumbers
zucchini squash
AND BABY TOMATOES!!

And BABY STRAWBERRIES!

That is one cute farmer.

And the reason for the basil? Only my very favorite summertime dinner (or lunch) (or snack) ever:

Ingredients:
cooked orzo
grilled chicken, sliced
grilled asparagus (sprinkle with olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper before grilling)
cherry tomatoes (halved)
kalamata olives (halved)
balsamic vinegar (I used a balsamic vinaigrette)
feta cheese

Toss it all together.
Easy Peasy

Lesson Learned:
Before we know it, the tomatoes in that recipe will be homegrown, too.

  1. so fun!!
I left a vm on your phone about taking the "suckers" off your tomato vines...have you been doing this? I just heard about it and am working on mine and thought I'd pass that along. Congrats on the little green tomatoes! (Story has been picking ours because she thinks they're balls.)
