The boys' second cousin, once removed, to the negative first power (or something like that) gave them this great Go Fish game for Christmas. Instead of just matching boring old colors, you try to match FANCY colors, like chartreuse and buttercup.
Today, we added paper clips...
scattered them into a little pond....
...and went fishing!
To make the fishing pole, I took a dowel rod, tied a piece of yarn around the top, and taped a little magnet to the end...
Take turns "fishing" and trying to make color matches.
(Or use regular playing cards and try to match numbers. Or make your own using index cards and match uppercase/lowercase letters, letters with beginning sound pictures, sight words, vocabulary words + definitions, whatever.)
